New logo: Yaroslavl


Yaroslavl is a Russian city with about half a million inhabitants located northeast of Moscow. Founded about 1000 years ago, its centre is now a World Heritage Site. Last month, on December 26, a new symbol was unveiled that will be used by the city in its communication, created by Art. Lebedev Studio.

The symbol takes inspiration from the fact that Yaroslavl is lovated at the confluence of two rivers, the Volga and the Kotorosl. It is also a stylised version of the letter Я, which is the first letter in Yaroslavl, and - of course - an arrow.

New logo: Yaroslavl Coast


Yaroslavl Coast (Ярославское взморье in Russian) is a government project to establish a lakeside resort by the Rybinsk Reservoir north of Moscow.

Its visual identity was developed by Art. Lebedev Studio and features a symbol inspired by topographical maps and natural motifs, like tree rings and seashell patterns. The primary version of the logo comes in multiple colours; there are also colour-coded version for different divisions within the project.

New logo: Gorky Park


The Gorky Park, or the "Central Park for Culture and Recreation named after Gorky" (Центральный парк культуры и отдыха имени Горького in Russian), is an amusement park in central Moscow, founded in 1928. On Monday, October 15, it unveiled a new visual identity, created by Art. Lebedev Studio.

The new logo is set in a sans serif and has a bird embedded in the k in the word park. In other communication, the park is using Art. Lebedev Studio's own typeface ALS Direct. The studio has also created an extensive set of alternate letters containing charming icons, all related in some way to the park.

Continuing in pure typographic style, the new communication is predominantly white and black, complemented with four bright colours for the four seasons.

New logo: Odessa


Odessa is a the third largest city in Ukraine, located in the south of the country at the shore of the Black Sea. Last week, on June 6, the city opened a "Tourist Information Center" and also introduced a new tourism logo.

Created by Art. Lebedev Studio, the new symbol is a combination on an anchor and a heart shape. You may also imagine a lighthouse and some waves in it. As usual, the studio has developed and elaborate set of guidelines and applications that bring the new identity to life.
