New logo: Moscow 24
Tonight will see the launch of "Moskva 24" (Москва 24) a news channel for the Russian capital. It was created from an existing local Moscow station called TV Stolitsa (ТВ Столица, meaning "TV Capital") that was aquired by the government to create an information channel modeled after metropolitan channels like NY1 in New York. "Moskva 24" was selected from several possible names, another name that was reportedly considered was the more imaginative "Megapolis TV".
What turned out to be the last logo used by TV Stolitsa was introduced in 2008 as part of a new look created by Optima DMG.
