New logo: Kindernet
April 4 saw the launch of a new Dutch TV channel for kids between 3 and 8 years old. It is called Kindernet and is owned by MTV Networks, who also own Nickelodeon, and a Belgian production company called Studio 100.
The name Kindernet had previously been used in the Netherlands by a popular children's TV channel which was eventually turned into the Dutch version of Nickelodeon.
In the logo, the nine letters in the name have been placed in separate rectangles, that have then been placed in yet another rectangle. Although it uses Nickelodeon's typeface and signature colour, this is a departure from Nickelodon's 2009 rebrand, where all channel logos were replaced by simple wordmarks.
