Headquartered in San Diego, California, ChinaTel Group is company specialized in buying frequency spectrum for telecommunication services in emerging markets. Although the company started out investing in the People's Republic of China, it is about to launch a wireless network in Peru and is exploring other emerging markets. Last week, July 25, it announced that it had changed its name to VelaTel Global Communications, as the old name didn't properly describe the company anymore.
